From v0 to a working, production app
v0 gives you a beautiful front end. Here is what it takes to add the backend, sign-in, database and payments that turn it into a product.

v0 generates polished React and Next.js interfaces quickly. It is a front-end tool first: on its own it doesn’t give you a database, user accounts or payments. That is the gap between a great-looking v0 project and a product people can sign up for.
What gets added
| Layer | What we build |
|---|---|
| Database | A data model with migrations and backups |
| Accounts | Sign-up, sign-in, password reset, roles |
| Server logic | API routes with permission checks and validation |
| Payments | Stripe checkout or subscriptions with verified webhooks |
| AI features | Model calls on the server with tests and cost limits |
| Hosting | Staging and production environments, monitoring |
Why this is usually fast
Because v0 output is clean, conventional React, we rarely need to rewrite the interface. Most of the work is the backend and connecting the screens to real data, which fits well inside a V1 Sprint.
Time and cost
| Starting point | Typical time | Typical cost |
|---|---|---|
| Screens only, simple data | 2 weeks | $5,000 – $8,000 |
| Screens plus payments and roles | 3 weeks | $8,000 – $12,000 |
